You are invited to attend an exclusive information evening at the college, designed to provide parents/carers and school leavers with key information about becoming a student of Vision West Nottinghamshire College.

The event is open to both parents/carers and school leavers whom have not yet applied for a place at the college and are considering their options after leaving school this summer.
The event will begin at 6pm (registration from 5.30pm) with an introductory presentation from the college’s Vice Principal, Louise Knott, who will provide an overview of what it’s like to be a student, including information about teaching and learning, study programmes, the support available and what to expect in the run-up to September.
After the presentation we will be offering tours of the facilities and curriculum areas at the Derby Rd campus. We will also have a number of information stands available where you can find out more about:

Adult education and university-level open evening
What to expect
Whether you’re returning to education, want to take your qualifications higher, or are simply ready to try something new, our adult education and university-level information evening is for you.
This open evening is designed to give those aged 19+ all the information they will need about our courses, from entry-level to university-level, both full-time and part-time, to help them make the right choices to support their career ambitions. This could include a community course, work-based learning, a professional qualification, a full-time course (including GCSEs and A Levels) and even a degree.
University-level study
Did you know we offer university-level courses at college?
With the opening of our new Vision University Centre, we’re offering more university-level courses to more students than ever before – all of which are flexible and can easily be fitted around other commitments. HE programmes on offer include HNCs, HNDs, foundation degrees and full honours degrees.
The new centre provides students with state-of-the-art facilities including modern learning spaces, IT suites, a learning resource centre, a 100-seat lecture theatre and science laboratories. Join us to find out more about Higher Education and our validating universities.
Access to Higher Education
Not quite ready for university? Our Access to HE courses can get you university ready in just one year. Access courses can be studied in a number of subjects including business and law, nursing, science, sport and teaching – and help you to get the skills, qualifications and confidence needed to move on to Higher Education in your chosen area.
Professional qualifications
If you’re looking for specific skills to help you move on in your career, or into something new, we offer a range of professional accredited courses including accounting, marketing, HR and purchase and supply. Some pick and mix options are available for you to select exactly the units you need to enhance your skills.
Community courses
The college offers a number of shorter courses at over 50 venues across Nottinghamshire which run throughout the year. Many of our community learners choose to study on a course with us to make friends, gain new skills, explore their interests further or gain important skills including First Aid. Courses range from photography, to crafts, learning languages, and more and vary in length.
Full-time courses
Our full-time courses begin in September, and provide students with specific skills across a number of vocations. Our courses range from entry-level to Level 3, with a real focus on employability and getting you ready for a career. Subject areas include business, care and education, computer science, construction, creative arts, engineering, hair and beauty, health and care, hospitality and catering, sport and public services and travel and tourism.
We also offer A Levels at the college’s exclusive sixth form centre.
Getting here
The Vision University Centre is located at the Derby Road campus within close proximity to Mansfield train station. Bus and taxi services are also available. There is ample parking on-site.
When you arrive
Make your way to the main reception of the university centre where you will be greeted by our friendly staff in red t-shirts who will provide you with an open evening guide and our latest course guide that contains plenty of useful information. The team will be around throughout the night should you need further assistance.
